Is there blood on your hands?

The Bible records the first shedding of innocent blood in Genesis 4:10. God asked Cain what he had done because the voice of his brother’s blood cried out from the ground. Blood is the source of life in both the spiritual and physical realm. There is life in the blood.

Ezekiel 33:1-14 tells us that the watchman was responsible for the safety and protection of the inhabitants of the city. When an enemy came against the city it was the responsibility of the watchman to sound the trumpet to warn the city. If the people didn’t take heed to the warning and were captured or killed, their blood would be on their own hands. If the watchman didn’t warn the people, then the blood that was shed was accounted to the watchman for not doing his job.

Likewise in the new covenant church of today, God has given us the responsibility to warn sinners that the sword of judgment is coming to the earth (Mark 16:15). We are the only ones who have been given the command to preach the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. All of us are living in the age of grace, but judgment is coming. Believers in Christ have been given the ministry of reconciliation because we are ambassadors for Christ (II Corinthians 5:19- 20).

One day we all will have to give an account of the lives we were assigned to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you have never moved on the impression of the Holy Spirit to share Jesus, then you may have blood on your hands. Right now there may be countless people in hell crying out in pain because you didn’t allow God to use you. Were you too busy? Didn’t think it was your job? Were you too scared and didn’t know what to say? Which excuse will you try to use when you stand before an all knowing God on Judgment Day? Will you stand there with only your confession of faith and no souls won? What a tragedy, not to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:8 that by grace ye are saved through faith. Accepting God’s free salvation is not the end but the beginning of a journey of faith working for and with the Lord. Our spiritual conversion should be followed by a sincere labor of love for Jesus. Unfortunately too many precious Saints end up being “Aint’s”: ain’t good for nothing and ain’t doing nothing in the church except being a Pew Sitter. Jesus told us to occupy until He comes back (Luke 19:13).Today it seems like most Christians are content to occupy a pew until Jesus comes back. I pray this isn’t you.

Dropping in your $2.50 every Sunday doesn’t relieve you of your personal responsibility to be a witness for Christ. Keep on giving to the Church but don’t stop there. There are people in this earth that God is preparing to hear the gospel from you. You were specifically designed by God to be able to reach people that no one else can reach. That’s why it takes the whole Body of Christ to do the Lord’s work. No one person can do it all. Everybody has to do their part to win the lost.

Don’t panic if you haven’t been diligent about sharing Christ with others. Repent and ask the Lord to forgive you for being so selfish. God loves you and expects you to be busy about His business in this earth. If He can’t depend on you then who can He trust with His Gospel of the Good News? He can’t ask the cults to do it. Allow God to use you for His glory. We are told in Romans 6:13 that we should yield our members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

You get into Heaven by receiving God’s free grace through the blood of Jesus. You are rewarded in Heaven for what you have done for the Kingdom of God on the earth. Jesus said according to Matthew 16:27, “He shall reward every man according to his works.” What do you have in your heavenly bank account? Do you have receipts for souls or receipts for gold?

You may be upset about this article but you will appreciate this truth when you get to Heaven with all the lives you lead to the Lord. Don’t go to Heaven with the blood of condemned lives on your hands because you never shared the Gospel. Do the work now when it is day, because when night comes no man can work (John 9:4).

Jesus blood was shed for us to cry out to
Him to be saved.
Don’t let the blood of tormented souls cry out from Hell for you.
You can make a difference.
