Third Annual Appreciation Dinner

The Third Annual SWAT Appreciation Dinner was an unforgettable affair. The VICE SQUAD from Baltimore, Maryland and other precious visiting evangelistic ministries joined us for a time of fellowship and impartation. Everyone enjoyed a time of refreshing and a delicious dinner prepared and served by Joyce Simmons of Supreme Catering, Inc.

All the SWAT TEAM members were awarded certificates of courage in the heat of the battle and a special family portrait. A special award was presented to SWAT Member of the Year Ruth Mallory. Mark Mackey of Rightsyde Graphics, Inc. was honored for taking us to another level of excellence. Minister Lecora Bowen was honored for her continuous spiritual advice and legal support of the ministry.

Pastor Andre & Paula Westfield of Family Restoration Christian Center and Pastor Emmet McCord of For Christ Sake Christian Center joined in the festivities. Minister Anthony and Juanita Rankin from Grace Tabernacle Pentecostal Church were also our honored guest. A fitting powerpoint tribute was made to SWAT Member Joan Harrison who completed her mission on earth on August 16, 2001.

This dinner was not only a time to rejoice over our past achievements but also a time to set aside our individual programs and schedules. We came from different walks of life representing various denominations. But on that day we came together as the True Body of Christ. No one argued about biblical truths or doctrines. Instead we celebrated the most important thing; the lives we changed and the souls rescued from eternal turmoil. We were willing to leave the comfort of our pristine churches and carry out the mandate set before us in Matthew 28:19-20, Go ye and teach all nations!

Are you still hiding from the enemy behind the comfort of the church walls? Are you ashamed to share the love of Christ with someone? Who’s life have you changed?

What have you done for God lately?
