This is a brief history of the reason how the Soul Winning Attack Team (SWAT) was birthed into the heart of Walter Howard.

After seeing the available tracts used in our church outreach ministry, I discovered repeatedly that the people we were witnessing to could not relate to the tracts like I thought they should. The group of people we were witnessing to were predominantly people of color and from the inner city.

I knew the most important thing was to get the incorruptible Word of God into them so the Holy Spirit could perform the new birth in their spirit. But when trying to use the tracts as bait to open the person up, they were turned off by the cover of most of the tracts. The words in the tracts were of God, but the person could not get pass the cover. This is called preaching without reaching.

God started revealing to me some truths that would change my method of witnessing for the Lord. First, it was revealed to me that even though I have truth, the candidate to be saved may never see the truth unless you remove the hindrances that have them blind. The correct bait or tract must be used to open up their eyes and remove their misunderstanding so they can get their mind in the proper position to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

So we were instructed to make tracts that would meet the person where they were and their little understanding about God with the mission of removing their bondage of religion and bringing them to recognize who is their Savior. Then they can't do anything but make a quality decision to live for God.

We strive to produce tracts that are on the cutting edge in the Soulwinning battlefield that is occurring in the streets, highways and by-ways. Our goal is to keep it real and simple. Our mission is to plant as many seeds as we can, water the seed others have planted, cultivate the seeds that are being prepared, and reap the harvest whenever the person is ready to receive Jesus Christ.
