Profiles of Faith - Joan Harrison
This is a tribute to Joan Harrison, a fellow Soul Winning Attack
Team member. This mighty merciful soldier in Gods advancing
army was not only a co-labor in the SWAT Ministry, but she was my
precious Mother.
Mom told me about Jesus Christ early in my life. She showed me how
to share the love of God with people on the streets who were prostitutes,
drug addicts, gang members, alcoholics, homosexuals, homeless, religious,
or from all other walks of life.
Joan Harrison became the second member of the Soul Winning Attack
Team in 1998. She was not only my mother but I had to share her
with others because she was the Mother of the Ministry. She touched
many lives on the street of Atlanta, Georgia. She was Miss Joan
to everyone she met for the first time. After that she became a
Mom to everyone she met on the mission field. Many unbelievers and
saints on the streets called her Mom or Momma. She shared the true
love of a Mother to many who never felt that type of real love.
She warmly shared the Gospel of the Good News and gave many hope
and faith in God.
She loved to double team the devil with Brother Alex when witnessing.
They would snatch souls right out of the grips of Satan. They both
believed God for their manifested healings in the midst of their
pain and suffering, but would not miss any opportunity to go out
witnessing with SWAT on the streets of Atlanta. Joan and Alex fought
the good fight of faith.
Her boldness mixed with love and kindness was a powerful tool in
reaching those harden by life. She touched the ones that many believers
had given up on. To Mom they were an opportunity to stretch her
faith and find new levels of love in her. Her extraordinary love
would heal and comfort those lost souls in need. She birthed many
children in the spirit into the Kingdom of God. I had to learn how
to share her with others.
The Members of SWAT knew the price she paid to be a witness for
Christ. We saw her smile and love on others in pain as her body
was wrecked with pain. Her faith in God never wavered. My mom counted
it more worthy to be committed to share the love of Jesus Christ
than to stay home and worry about her own afflictions and pain.
